A Brief History of The Loser
What is The Gentleman Loser?
At present, The Gentleman Loser is a one-person electronic act (with the lovely Miss Julie filling in from time to time when I want to do vocals without twiddling the knobs). I, Josh Klessig, am the man behind The Gentleman Loser.
For me, this is basically a hobby project. However, a newfound dedication to music has me ready to force new growth into something more polished than before. Also, I am hoping to put some work into developing a more interesting stage show for live performances.
Outside of this project I make films as part of RASHfilms and am also a co-director of a local film making organization called Wis-Kino.

Early Stuff
I have been on a lazy and relaxed learning curve for years now playing with software, then hardware synthesizers. I never really knew what direction I wanted to go, and most everything I have written is entirely an accident.
At first, I started working with ambient music, not so much because I was a fan of the genre (hell, the only ambient I had was Aphex Twin) but probably due to a fear of drum beats. Yes, I used to hate programming drum beats and was never any good at it, so I figured ambient would be a place I could escape them. This was all years ago however, when I was in college and only had a cheap Yamaha keyboard and a copy of Reason to work off of.
2005 and Forward
I have since started to collect some proper equipment, gotten over my fear of drum programming (hell I love it now), and have started collaborative projects with other local musicians that have broadened my abilities and perspectives.
What I am trying to accomplish right now is to blend industrial with punk and a dash of chip tunes make things interesting.
