This project has
been much delayed, but
fear not, work is underway in it.
The point of this EP is to forge a new direction for the sound of Gentleman Loser. Something more lyric oriented and with harder edge. Morey and I are essentially trying to do electronic punk music, and it has been slow going as this is not an easy task for us, this different style.
In addition to the five new tracks that will make up the "Five Cocks" section of the album, there will be a collection of other new tracks, a cover, and old Gentleman Loser tracks that have been updated to reflect the ways they have evolved while playing live. This will be known as the "Additional Cocks" section.

The
EP was made especially for release during our show at Forward
Fest/Reverence '09. It was released Sept 17th at The
Frequency.
It features three new Gentleman Loser songs, followed by three early tracks from the (at the time of the EP's release) future Morey/Josh experimental-electronic project intergalacticSugarClub upcoming album Get it On. The first two Gentleman Loser songs were written by Josh alone, while the third marked the beginning of Josh and Morey writing for Gentleman Loser as a duo.
This physical disc version of the album is available at shows and from either Morey or Josh directly. It is sold for $4 and includes a download code to a recording of the Reverence show and the disc itself has an extra hidden track.
It is also available on The Gentleman Loser and The Intergalactic Sugar Club BandCamp sites.

It contains four demo tracks from the writing of Ghost District and one Bad Religion cover that's embarrassing.

The
first release by Gentleman Loser in several years. The
5-Track EP was dubbed, "Ghost
District." The album was written over the period of one month
before going to Daku Mata Studios to
make a
proper recording before the CD release show on April 11th 2009.
This album predates Morey's addition to the band, however he did produce the EP. The album is, unfortunately, quite sloppy due to being rushed out the door for the release show. Buyer beware, this is simply not our best work.
It is available as a downloadable .zip file, HERE at Bandcamp.com, and a limited physical version is available at live shows in mini-CD format. The mini-CD version comes with a download code that can be redeemed at the link below for demo versions of these songs.

A
few left over songs that made after the
"Feather in my Throat" sessions. The first track is a
favorite, while the other track is a bit of an unfinished project.
Also, from around this time are a handful of throw away tracks and experiments. They are listed under the track listing as "Garbage File."
Track Listing:
- We Are Nothing but Incredible Machines - Another song, like Conduit, that just came out of nowhere. Josh liked the piano part, and liked the grainshifting effect allot, so he really use the hell out that effect.
- Tolswipz - A random song, used the "ice field" patch on the MS2000 too much in this.
Garbage File:
- Gap Junction - Just playing around with a Kaoss Pad and the Electribe's appreggiator.
- Dark Stream - Just a cool little scrap of something Josh doesn't even remember making that was found on his hard drive. It was made in Reason.
- Conduit (Demo) - The initial version of Conduit, written while relaxing at Motherfools or Company of Thieves coffeehouse.
An
attempt at making industrial, or at
least harder sounding techno. Josh no longer wanted to bother with
making
ambient. He also wanted to start using hardware synths instead of
software. Boy does the hardware feel much better. Originally this
work was done under the name "Statik!" but later realized that the name
(sans
exclamation point) had already been taken and some people were confused
as to how this amateur sounding music could fit into Statik's catalog.
Different combinations of songs from this collection (and The Reason from the Inebriated Assistant days) were burned onto various 3-track miniCDs that were given out to friends, strangers, and left lying around The Inferno.
Track Listing:
- Polybius - Josh's first track attempting to use the Electribe
- Back in the Lab - His immediate second. Written to be quick, dirty and harsh. It is.
- Conduit - A bit-to-dancy song that Josh ended up writing. Was not at all planning to write it though, it just sort of happened.
- Lady Marseilles - A cover of a song by a band called "Franklyn Silver and Oliver Brask". It should be noted that the people behind FSaOL are also behind the Madison band Moorebeck Stellar which is, incidentally, or not so incidentally, quite good. We suggest checking it out, some of the most genre-defying music I have heard in a long while.

intergalacticSugarClub - Get it On
Get
It On is the first official release from industrial/incidental band
Intergalactic Sugar Club. The album is 15 tracks long, two of which are
reinterpretations of songs Gentleman Loser songs, and two of which are
updated versions of tracks from their 2009 split EP, Epistatic Bias.
Keen observers will note that Gentleman Loser often plays the songs Get It On and Oscar Sings during live shows, though in both cases the songs are performed differently than they appear on this CD. For your convenience those two songs are available for download by clicking on them below.

This
is the first release from The Magnificent Bastards, pioneered by daku
mata studios. Vince and Morey Burnard have been making home recordings
since the mid-90's, and this album's blend of electronic and acoustic
instrumentation is their most stunning work yet.
The brothers along with ten other recording artists met in the studio
from July to October 2008 to create this dreamy, techno sound, and look
forward to creating more work with the group in the coming months,
including a live show with "huge friggin puppets!"
daku mata studios has also produced Aporia's new self titled release
(also available at CD Baby), as well as two film scores and theatrical
scenic music.

Inebriated Assistant - Aural Prozac

Went under the name "Inebriated Assistant" at this point, not to adopt the "The Gentleman Loser" for another half 'a decade.
Josh's first music
project. Okay, that's a lie. But the first music
project was really just me mixing factory loops on a friend's
MC-505...not really creative. Not at all. Thus it is not included
anywhere on
this site (in fact, I couldn't if I wanted to, I lost the CD). This was
done (with the exception of Clove Deck which was done with a microKORG)
completely using software synths. Oh yeah, the name 'Inebriated
Assistant' came from
The Wu
Name Generator. Note that Josh
didn't really know the music of Wu-Tang
Clan well, and just got a kick out of the name it generated. The
following list is in the order that the songs were written, so
you can trace
a progression from crappy to okay.
Track Listing:
- Pollen - First track. Very minimal. Nothing much at all.
- Arbor Vitae - Originated as a track for The Shock Project, but I spiced it up a bit.
- Crop Circle - This one is repetitive but cool. Shuffling sound in the background is a bit creepy.
- Gestalt - This one never ended up how Josh wanted it.
- Gestalt (Reprise) - This was the piano revision of Gestalt. A bit self-indulgent really.
- Sintered Glass - An attempt at making a beat-oriented techno song. Breaks the entire style of IA, and really sounds weak as well. Oh well.
- The Reason - This is Josh's favorite song. Slow, sad, and written from 3am to noon after a night of partying.
- Dead Gods - Josh wanted to explore some more orchestral stuff after making 'The Reason'
- Clove Deck - Josh started acquiring hardware synths, and used one to say goodbye to IA by making a counterpart to Pollen
The Shock Project Soundtrack

Track Listing:
- #TSP-FLT1A - A really boring synth loop. Never ended up using it. File has since been lost.
- #TSP-FLT2A - This one was reworked by Crimson. File has since been lost.
- #TSP-RET1A - Also known as "Coffee Black as Your Fucking Soul", this song later became Arbor Vitae.
- #TSP-RBT1A - Created for the 'Medical' level of the game. Simple, kind of fun.
- #TSP-RET2A - Created for the end credits. Later became the song 'Sintered Glass'.
